Türkiye’nin Suriye’de oluşan yeni yönetime tavsiyelerde bulunacağı, yol göstereceği ve kurumların inşası için onlara yardımcı olacağı söylenmişti. Cumhurbaşkanı ve Dışişleri Bakanı dahil herkes bunu ağız dolusu cümlelerle söyledi, söylüyor da.

Elhak, bu sözlerin hepsi doğru çıktı. Türkiye, yeni Suriye yönetimi üzerinde epey güçlü telkin gücüne sahip. Baksanıza, Türkiye Belediyeler Birliği ve İstanbul Belediyesi’nin Şam’a göndereceği yardım heyetin ziyareti -belli ki Türkiye’nin telkinleriyle- iptal edildi. Şam Valiliği, belediyeler heyetine ancak Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan’ın Suriye ziyaretinden sonra gelebileceklerini söyledi.

TBB, Dışişleri Bakanlığı dahil bütün yazışmaları tamamlıyor, buna göre program hazırlıyor. Şam Valiliği’nden de onay geliyor. Geliyor ama geldiği gibi sadece 6 saat sonra gidiyor!

Bilin bakalım kim istedi de ziyaret iptal edildi...

Ne gerek var bunlara? Niye ayakları üzerinde durmaya çalışan bir ülkeyi Türkiye’nin iç siyasetindeki çekişmenin parçası yaparsınız? Adamları niçin hiç istemedikleri bir siyasi gerilimin parçası haline gelmeye zorlarsınız? TBB’nin de İBB’nin de başkanı Ekrem İmamoğlu diye, onun bütün faaliyetlerini İstanbul’dan Şam’a kadar engellemek neden?

Bu mu bölgesine nizamat veren, kimseden korkmayan, vurduğu yerden ses getiren büyük Türkiye!

İmamoğlu’nun Suriye’ye yardım heyetine mani olduktan sonra dönüp muhalefete “Suriye’ye sırt çevirdiniz, Esadcısınız, falan filan” demek neyin nesi?

CHP, birkaç haftadan beri Ak Parti’ye karşı psikolojik üstünlüğü kaybediyor. Ama İBB Başkanı’nın ensesinden bir türlü ayrılmamaları gösteriyor ki iktidar ile İmamoğlu arasındaki psikolojik rekabet hâlâ devam ediyor. Ne kadar üstünlük kazansalar, anketleri ne kadar kendi lehlerine dönse de İmamoğlu’nu asla ihmal etmiyorlar. Erdoğan’ın gönlünde İmamoğlu’nun yeri ayrı! Alabildiği bütün yetkilerini, binalarını hatta topladığı yardımları elinden alıyor, yatırımlarını onaylamıyor, mümkün olsa kazandığı seçimi tanımıyor. İçeride ve dışarıda ne olursa olsan Erdoğan, İBB Başkanı’nı asla ihmal etmiyor.

Bu yanlıştan daha yanlış Şam ziyareti iptal kararı, Türkiye’nin Suriye politikasının tahminlerin ötesinde bir iç politika malzemesi olduğunu gösteriyor. Bu kadarına tenezzül edilmesi ise iktidarın/Cumhurbaşkanı’nın seçim kampanyasına şimdiden başladığını, aday olabilmek ve kazanabilmek için her şeyi göze aldığını anlatıyor. İçinde İmamoğlu’nun bile bulunmadığı, bürokrat ve danışmanlardan oluşan bir heyete dahi mani olmak bayağı sert bir kampanyanın habercisidir.

Dış politikanın iç politika malzemesi yapılmamasını veya siyasi rekabette orantısız devlet gücü kullanılmamasını talep etmek iyimserlik olur. Bu sefer herkesin işi daha zor ve centilmenlik ihtimali yok. Geçen seçim öncesi “ama montaj ama şu ama bu” noktasına vararak rekor kıran kuralsızlığı yeni rekorlar bekliyor. İmamoğlu’nun işine yarayabilir diye Suriye’ye gidecek heyeti bile deftere yazan, yazmakla kalmayıp üstüne programı iptal ettiren bir siyasi ihtirastan söz ediyoruz. İBB’ye ve İBB Başkanı’na karşı yapılan her hamle toplumdaki şaşırma duygusunu yok ediyor. Her adım, bir sonraki hamlede daha az şaşkınlık yaratmak için... İçi boş ve tamamen hukuksuz ama “siyasi yasak” hedefli dava dosyası da bir köşede sallanıyor. Hiçbir şeye şaşırma, buna da hiç şaşırma, dercesine...

It was said that Turkey would advise and guide the new administration in Syria and help them build institutions. Everyone, including the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said this in full sentences, and they continue to do so.

Elhak, all of these words turned out to be true. Turkey has a very strong power of indoctrination over the new Syrian administration. Just look, the visit of the aid delegation sent to Damascus by the Union of Turkish Municipalities and the Istanbul Municipality was cancelled - obviously due to Turkey's instigation. The Damascus Governor's Office told the municipal delegation that they could only come after President Erdoğan's visit to Syria.

TBB completes all correspondence including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and prepares a program accordingly. Approval comes from the Damascus Governorate. He comes but as soon as he comes, he leaves after only 6 hours!

Guess who requested that the visit be cancelled...

What is the need for them? Why would you make a country that is trying to stand on its own two feet a part of the internal political conflict in Turkey? Why would you force the men to become a part of a political tension that they do not want at all? Why are you obstructing all of his activities from Istanbul to Damascus just because Ekrem İmamoğlu is the president of both the TBB and the IMM?

Is this the great Türkiye that gives order to its region, fears no one, and makes a noise wherever it strikes?

After İmamoğlu prevented the aid delegation to Syria, what is the point of telling the opposition, "You turned your back on Syria, you are pro-Assad, etc."?

The CHP has been losing its psychological advantage over the AKP for a few weeks now. But the fact that they have not been able to leave the IMM President's neck shows that the psychological competition between the government and İmamoğlu is still ongoing. No matter how much they gain an advantage, no matter how much the polls turn in their favor, they never neglect İmamoğlu. İmamoğlu has a special place in Erdoğan's heart! He takes away all the authorities he can get, his buildings, and even the aid he collects, does not approve his investments, and if possible, does not recognize the election he won. No matter what happens inside and outside, Erdoğan never neglects the IMM President.

This decision to cancel the Damascus visit is more wrong than wrong, it shows that Turkey's Syria policy is a domestic policy material beyond expectations. The fact that they stooped to this much shows that the government/President has already started the election campaign and is willing to do anything to be a candidate and win. Obstructing a committee consisting of bureaucrats and advisors, which does not even include İmamoğlu, is a sign of a very tough campaign.

It would be optimistic to demand that foreign policy not be used as domestic policy material or that disproportionate state power not be used in political competition. This time, everyone's job is harder and there is no chance of being a gentleman. New records await the irregularity that broke records by reaching the point of "but it's a montage but this but that" before the last election. We are talking about a political ambition that even wrote down the delegation that would go to Syria because it might be useful to İmamoğlu, and not only did so, but also had the program canceled. Every move made against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President eliminates the sense of surprise in society. Every step is to create less surprise in the next move... The case file, which is empty and completely unlawful but targets a "political ban", is also hanging in a corner. As if to say, don't be surprised by anything, don't be surprised by this either...
