CHP, Kılıçdaroğlu döneminde kabuk değiştirdi. Bu değişim, fazla gürültü patırtı kopmadan, çok sert zıtlıklar yaşanmadan gerçekleşti. CHP artık o eski otoriter-modernist parti değil. Başörtüsü, kilit meseleydi. Sonrası geldi. “Kaba laiklik”ten “demokratik laikliğe”, ayrıştırıcı milliyetçilikten eşitlikçi demokrasiye doğru bir evrim yaşandı.

Tüm zaaflar ortadan kalktı mı? Bu mümkün değil. Sonuçta CHP, bu ülkenin kurucu partisi. Belli kalıpları var. CHP hâlâ bir yönüyle elitist, bürokratik bir parti. Kısmen de bir memur partisi. Ancak bunun dozu giderek azalıyor. 14 Mayıs 2023 seçimlerinde Kılıçdaroğlu’nun önderlik ettiği 6’lı masa, çok eleştiriler alsa da Türk halkının önüne gelen yeni bir teklifti. Ortaklaşa hazırlanan 200 maddelik protokolde, köklü bir demokrasi talebi, bütün maddelerin içine sinmişti. Partiler ve yorumcular bunu unutsa da seçmen unutmadı. 6’lı masadaki partilerin seçmenleri, 31 Mart seçimlerinde, kendi partilerinin adaylarından çok, kazanacak muhalif adaylara yani ortak bir perspektife oy verdi.

Özgür Özel’in “normalleşme” dediği yeni uzlaşmacı yaklaşım, işte bu sürecin ürünü. Şimdi şüpheci gözler, CHP’nin bu yeni çıkışı benimseyip benimsemeyeceğine bakıyor. CHP içinde bu çizgiyi doğru bulmayan bir damar da varlığını koruyor. Ancak şu koşullarda itiraz edebilecek bir eğilim içinde değiller. Seçim başarısı kazanmış siyasetin karşısına dikilmeye niyetli görünmüyorlar.

CHP’nin lideri kim olursa olsun, var olan çizgiyi devam ettirmek durumunda. İmamoğlu da modernist kesimlerle muhafazakar kesimleri bir arada tutmaya yatkın bir siyaset izliyor. Bir anlamda 6’lı masayla şekillenen siyaset devam edecek gibi görünüyor. Özgür Özel, Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan’la görüşmesinde, bir dizi meseleyi gündeme getirdi, iç politikanın bazı sorunlarını sıraladı. Şimdi sorun “normalleşme” beklentisi içindeki kitlelerin ihtiyaçlarının nasıl kaşılanacağı.

Yani ekonomi nasıl rayına girecek, adalet nasıl işleyecek? Dış politikaya gelecek olursak… Özgür Özel, “Milli meselelerde ortak hareket ederiz” anlamına gelen bir açıklama yaptı. Bu açıklamanın ne anlama geldiği üzerinde fazla düşünüldüğünden emin değilim. CHP değişimi kendi içinde yaşarken, bir yandan da Türkiye değişiyor. “Normalleşme” ya da“yumuşama” herkese lazım. Siyaset bu ihtiyaca cevap verecek dönüşümleri yaşamaya devam edecek…

CHP changed its shell during the Kılıçdaroğlu period. This change took place without much fuss or harsh contradictions. CHP is no longer the old authoritarian-modernist party. The headscarf was the key issue. The next thing came. There was an evolution from “vulgar secularism” to “democratic secularism”, from discriminatory nationalism to egalitarian democracy.

Have all the weaknesses been eliminated? This is not possible. After all, CHP is the founding party of this country. There are certain patterns. CHP is still an elitist, bureaucratic party in one aspect. It is partly a civil servants' party. However, the dose of this is gradually decreasing. The 6-party table led by Kılıçdaroğlu in the May 14, 2023 elections was a new proposal presented to the Turkish people, although it received a lot of criticism. In the 200-article protocol prepared jointly, the demand for a deep-rooted democracy permeated all articles. Even though the parties and commentators forgot about this, the voters did not. Voters of the parties in the table of 6 voted for the opposition candidates who would win, that is, for a common perspective, rather than the candidates of their own parties in the March 31 elections.

The new conciliatory approach that Özgür Özel calls “normalization” is the product of this process. Now skeptical eyes are looking at whether CHP will embrace this new approach. There is also a vein within the CHP that does not find this line correct. However, they are not inclined to object under these circumstances. They do not seem willing to stand against the politics that has achieved electoral success.

Whoever is the leader of the CHP has to continue the existing line. İmamoğlu also follows a policy that tends to keep modernist and conservative groups together. In a sense, the politics shaped by the table of 6 seems to continue. In his meeting with President Erdoğan, Özgür Özel brought up a number of issues and listed some problems of domestic policy. The problem now is how to meet the needs of the masses who expect "normalization".

So how will the economy get back on track and how will justice work? As for foreign policy... Özgür Özel made a statement meaning "We act jointly on national issues." I'm not sure much thought has been given to what this statement means. While CHP is experiencing change within itself, Türkiye is also changing. “Normalization” or “softening” is necessary for everyone. Politics will continue to experience transformations that will meet this need...
